2 Chr 7:14 If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
We lift up our State of Maharashtra, meaning the great land, with its diverse cultures and a modern cosmopolitan outlook. As we celebrate today the formation of our statehood, may we first thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed on us. Let us pray that the light of the Gospel would penetrate the hearts of those in darkness, remove the shackles and break the bonds of those under oppression, give hope to those under the yoke of superstition and ignorance, and bring peace to those who are troubled and in pain. As we celebrate ‘International Workers Day’ today let us thank God for all those individuals and various social organizations in the 1800’s that fought against the inhumane conditions and long working hours. Let us pray for workers all over the world who have been hit by the recent recession that they would find new hope as they put their trust in Christ

2/5/2009 Ps 96:7 Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength
We lift all families going on holidays as well as those who will spend their time at home; may God bless these families with a time of rest, togetherness and the joy of interacting with each other. Let us also pray for our youth that during these holidays, God would keep them from all harmful activities, wrong relationships and bad company which could lead them to sin, causing harm to themselves and their future careers. We also pray for every ‘Summer Holiday Camp’ being organized in our parishes; through them may the Lord provide our children with wholesome and satisfying recreation. We also lift up the Vacation Bible Joy programmes in the various parishes.

We lift up every Christian in the west who use their freedom to indulge in every form of hedonistic practice giving in to the desires of the flesh, by a materialistic and consumerist lifestyle, for those trusting in self rather than in God, being puffed with a spirit of self knowledge; may God in His mercy grant them grace to repent of all these sins and being filled with His love, may they use this new found freedom to serve Him and the church.
